Max Verstappen seems to have set the tone for this season. He claimed another victory this Saturday at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix with an equally impressive lead ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez, who finished 2nd on the podium.

We can say that this weekend was more than successful for the three-time world champion who started from pole position on the starting grid with a new track record, dethroning Hamilton’s record set in 2021. The Dutchman had the opportunity to set the fastest lap in the race. But Lewis Hamilton and then Charles Leclerc drove faster. The point reserved for this performance therefore eluded the three-time world champion.

Despite that, victory is still Dutch. It has been a fantastic weekend for the team and for me. In the race, the last laps were a bit more challenging to manage but we had a very good pace, I was able to control the gap all along. “I am very satisfied,” he declared on Canal+ before mentioning the difficulty of the Jeddah circuit: « with these high-speed corners, you can quickly go off track and it makes things more complicated.” A difficulty that the Dutchman managed to master once again by claiming his 59th career victory.
