Pierre Gasly becomes co-shareholder of Football Club de Versailles
An avid soccer fan, the French racing driver became the third partner-owner of the Yvelines club, which is currently playing in the French National League.

Pierre Gasly is diversifying his activities outside of Formula 1. The Alpine driver has just invested in FC Versailles to become its third partner alongside Alexandre Mulliez and Fabien Lazare. With Gasly on board, the club, currently 10th in the National championship, the third division in France, aims to change its scale and strengthen its influence.
“I am delighted to join FC Versailles because I have always wanted to be involved in professional football. With Alexandre and Fabien, we share values, ambition, and a competitive spirit that will allow us to positively impact the club. This is the beginning of a very beautiful story. Let’s go Versailles!” Gasly declared in the club’s statement.
The Normand has big ambitions for FC Versailles. Within about ten years, the Alpine driver plans to lead the club to the top tier of French football and will bring all his experience in high-level sports to it.
« We have medium and long-term ambitions. At five, ten, and fifteen years. I will try to pass on my relationship with elite sports, its requirements, the mindset, teamwork, self-performance, stress management, and the ability to surpass oneself daily. It is above all a passionate project for me, to create something solid in terms of training, in women’s football as well. Hoping, in the seasons to come, to move up to Ligue 2 and later to Ligue 1,” continued the Frenchman.
Gasly is undoubtedly realizing one of his dreams here by getting involved in his other passion for car racing. Often present in the stands of the Parc de Princes to support Paris Saint-Germain, the former Toro Rosso, Red Bull, and AlphaTauri driver has also chosen the number 10 as his racing number, in reference to one of his idols, Zinedine Zidane, the former playmaker of the French national team.
alexandre Mulliez, the president of FC Versailles and grandson of Gérard Mulliez, founder of the Auchan group, wanted to respond to the arrival of the winner of the 2020 Italian Grand Prix in the club’s organization chart:
Pierre brings a strong complementarity to Fabien and myself. I am convinced that our collaboration will be fruitful. As a longtime fan of Formula 1, I appreciate the opportunity to have Pierre by our side to achieve all our goals.
We can only wish Gasly and his new partners every success in this project.
