The new Peugeot 9X8 is here!
Peugeot Sport presented, Monday morning, the long-awaited evolution of its Hypercar: the new 9X8 is finally equipped with a rear wing. This evolution is accompanied by many others to try to get back in the game in WEC.

She had surprised everyone during her very first appearance: the Peugeot 9X8 exploited the Hypercar regulations to the fullest, even choosing to do without a rear wing.
But the numerous regulation changes (in particular the convergence between LMH and LMDh) had undermined the audacious concept of the Sochaux brand. The square tire setup was no longer viable against the competition.
This is how Peugeot revised its copy and brought a major evolution to its LMH: a rear wing and a more traditional philosophy on wheel dimensions. They will be wider at the rear than at the front, in order to regain downforce and reduce tire wear, which has caused so many problems.
The decoration has slightly changed, as the blue borders have given way to a dominant white, gray, and of course the fluorescent yellow characteristic of Peugeot Sport.
The first generation 9X8 did not achieve the expected success, despite a heroic race at Le Mans. At Imola, on April 21st, some good answers will be given in advance.
