If the Australian Grand Prix spared us the Dutch anthem for once, we were not spared it at Suzuka. Starting from pole position, Max Verstappen did the job and was never worried during the Japanese Grand Prix. He was naturally very satisfied with his race, at the end of which Red Bull secured a one-two finish with Sergio Perez coming in second. The Dutchman thus claimed the 57th victory of his career, and the third in Japan.

It was really nice today, the crucial moment was the start to stay in front, then the car just kept getting better and better for me during the race, which could be due to the arrival of the clouds. The strategy was good, it couldn’t have gone better, he said after the race.

He also came back to his (surprise) withdrawal in Australia fifteen days ago. The last race was a shame, but it’s a good way to come back here, it’s always nice to win here in Japan.

Finally, the reigning world champion is delighted about the return of the Chinese Grand Prix in fifteen days. It’s the first sprint race of the year, it’s going to be quite challenging, I can’t wait for it. There will be only one free practice session, it’s going to be interesting, concluded Max Verstappen.
