Misano ePrix 2024 – Race 1: Antonio Felix da Costa’s Porsche declared non-compliant, Oliver Rowland inherits the victory
Several hours after the arrival of the first race of the weekend in Misano, the FIA stewards decided to disqualify the Portuguese driver's car even though it had crossed the finish line as the winner.

New twist at Misano after a race that was already full of surprises. Having won the first round of the weekend behind the wheel of his Porsche, Antonio Felix da Costa was forced to hand over his trophy to his pursuer Oliver Rowland, who thus secures his first victory since a round of the Berlin ePrix 2020, also at the wheel of a Nissan.
The FIA specifies that it is the accelerator damper spring that was deemed non-compliant. This part was on the list of components used on the Gen2 single-seaters, but this is no longer the case for those of Gen3, which have been racing in the championship since last season.
The season 6 champion and his team have 96 hours to appeal this decision.
Furthermore, Sergio Sette Camara has received a 50-second penalty for using too much energy. He finished 7th but is eventually classified 15th. This notably allows the two DS Penske drivers, Jean-Eric Vergne and Stoffel Vandoorne, to gain two positions with 6th and 8th place finishes.
In the championship, Rowland obviously takes advantage of the situation as he now has a nine-point lead over Jake Dennis and seventeen points over Maximilian Günther.
