Post-Monaco rankings: Charles Leclerc wins at last, Norris in top 3 overall
The curse ends for Charles Leclerc, who finally wins in Monaco. After a chaotic start for all the drivers, the grid hasn't changed much since. Charles Leclerc wins the Monaco Grand Prix, Lando Norris climbs to third overall and Piastri enjoys his first podium of the season.

It took until the 2024 season for the Principality to fully savor its prince, Charles Leclerc. After a chaotic start, Sergio Perez’s impressive crash forced him to retire, Carlos Sainz’s tire issue, and Esteban Ocon’s retirement, the race was able to resume after a thirty-minute wait. Starting in pole position at home, the Monegasque had only one thing to do: manage his tires to secure the victory. And he did it, despite the pressure from Oscar Piastri in second place, Charles Leclerc did not give up and was able to cross the finish line in the lead. This fine victory therefore gives him 25 valuable points, bringing his total to 138 points. A victory that allows him to get closer to leader Max Verstappen with 169 points. Everything is still possible for the Scuderia Ferrari driver who can still aim for the world championship title this season.
Lando Norris in the Top 3 overall standings
The ascent continues for Lando Norris who reaches a new milestone this Sunday after the Monaco Grand Prix. After his great victory in Miami, the McLaren driver was aiming for third place in the drivers’ standings. During the Italian weekend, he was only six points behind the third-place holder, Sergio Perez. This Sunday, in Monaco, the Mexican driver undoubtedly experienced a moment of terror following an impressive accident that saw his car split in half. Forced to retire, Lando Norris had to secure the six points that separated him from third place in the overall standings. The British driver finished fourth in Monaco and scored twelve points! The drivers’ standings therefore change and welcome Lando Norris into the Top 3 behind Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc.
Oscar Piastri enjoys his first podium of the season.
Oscar Piastri had put a lot of pressure on his competitors in Saudi Arabia and in Australia by finishing fourth, this time he secures the podium by finishing second just behind Charles Leclerc. A podium that the rookie can fully savor. The McLaren driver had shown how consistent and aggressive he could be last season. He is doing it again this year and the Monaco circuit was the trigger. He therefore opens his podium account and secures the first one this season. In terms of the overall drivers’ standings, the Australian is sixth with 71 points behind Sergio Perez (105 points).
Alpine in the points despite the collision
The race was not experienced in the same way for the two Alpine drivers. Following a collision with his teammate, Esteban Ocon had to retire. Worse than that, he was even penalized with a 10-second penalty. A penalty that later turned into a 5-place grid penalty at the Canadian Grand Prix on June 9. Despite a difficult start to the race, Pierre Gasly, still in the running, had a decent race and even scored a point by finishing tenth in this Monaco Grand Prix. Join us on the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit on June 9 to hopefully continue to chase those valuable points.
