After a series of races on more winding and technical tracks, Formula 1 is returning to tracks more favorable to Red Bull. The RB20, which shone in Bahrain, Japan, and China, could regain its splendor on these high-speed circuits.

A circuit conducive to Red Bull, but sharp competition

Max Verstappen also expressed his enthusiasm on Thursday at the idea of returning to the Barcelona-Catalonia circuit: “We know that normally, it is a track on which our cars should adapt a little more, and we are excited,” Autosport reports.

However, the Dutch are measured about Red Bull’s chances of dominating: “No, I don’t think it will be like at the beginning of the season,” Verstappen said Thursday. “I am aware that everyone has caught up a lot, so everyone is quite confident. But if you compare this to the last races we have done, it should be a better track for us. But we still have to make sure it’s in the right balance window.”

Red Bull at the top, but progress expected.

Despite some recent problems, such as an engine issue during FP2 in Canada, Verstappen remains confident in the team: “We have to make sure that we get the most out of each race weekend. I am convinced that we are fully at the top of the execution of the race weekend.”

The battle for the title is therefore shaping up to be tight on these more traditional circuits. The question remains whether Red Bull will be able to maintain its lead against sharp rivals determined to break their domination, starting with McLaren with Lando Norris being the fastest in FP1…
