Alpine in talks with Carlos Sainz for 2025
Still seeking an F1 contract for 2025, Carlos Sainz is in talks with Williams, Audi and now Alpine for a place on the grid. Another opportunity for the current Ferrari driver, who will be leaving his team at the end of the season.
Since the announcement of Lewis Hamilton’s transfer to Ferrari, everyone is wondering where Carlos Sainz will go for 2025. At the moment, no information has been made official, but rumors are already suggesting a possible transfer to Williams and Audi (which will replace Sauber in 2026) who are still looking for their second driver. His father, Carlos Sainz Sr., known for actively looking after his career, has been seen several times in different motorhomes, notably those of Williams and Sauber.
While Carlos Sainz Jr. has not confirmed anything at the moment, the grid of drivers is starting to fill up. With 11 drivers already confirmed and the mid-season approaching, he doesn’t have much time left to make a choice.
Alpine enters the competition.
While transfer possibilities seemed to be closing for Sainz, according to Autosport, Alpine would have joined the race of those who want to acquire the Spanish driver for next year. After the recent arrival of Flavio Briatore in the team as an executive advisor, it is not surprising to see Carlos Sainz join the list of drivers hoped for by the team. The Italian businessman, known for his talent in recruitment, could only be interested in the most sought-after driver of the moment.
With eight points on the scoreboard compared to two for Williams and zero for Kick Sauber, Alpine positions itself as the most attractive offer among the three proposals. The French team has just scored points in its third consecutive race.
Sainz wishes to settle this matter as soon as possible.
Facing such proposals, Carlos Sainz wishes to resolve the issue of his future as soon as possible in order to fully focus on the current season. In the meantime, he prefers not to rush his decision to assess the advantages and disadvantages of each opportunity.
Interviewed by Autosport about a definitive answer for the Austrian Grand Prix, Sainz said that it could be considered, but nothing is certain at the moment. Therefore, we will have to wait for the next race to hopefully, maybe, get an answer from the Spanish driver.
