Frederic Vasseur on Toto Wolff’s comments: “Give him an F2 car and he’ll see!”
Frédéric Vasseur prefers to focus on his own team rather than talking about the dominant team like Toto Wolff did.

Red Bull is clearly dominating the World Championship for both drivers and constructors. The Austrian team has a total of 452 points, 229 more than Mercedes, who currently sits in second place in the constructor standings. In terms of the drivers’ championship, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez are the top two drivers. Max Verstappen, the current world champion, has 142 points, surpassing Fernando Alonso, who is the highest-ranked driver not considering the Red Bull team cars.
After Max Verstappen’s latest victory, his ninth this season, in Hungary, the two-time world champion finished with a 33-second lead over Lando Norris, who finished in second place. After the Grand Prix, Toto Wolff stated that the rest of the grid looked like Formula 2 compared to the Dutchman’s car.
A response that sparked reactions from the Ferrari boss. « Give him an F2 car and he’ll see! The Red Bulls are leading, but I think the sentiment is probably the same as when Mercedes was leading a few years ago, and I won’t go down that road », declared Frédéric Vasseur, the director of the Scuderia Ferrari.
The director of the Italian stable wants to focus on his team rather than the Austrian stable: « I honestly think that the most important thing is to focus on ourselves in order to get the best out of what we have, to minimize mistakes, to do a better job, and then whatever comes, will come. »
The former director of Alfa Romeo claims that catching up with Red Bull will be complicated this season.
« Everyone is improving, but the reality with regulations and cost caps is that we are improving much less than in the past. This means that when there is a gap, it is very difficult to close it. In the last four or five weekends, once in qualifying it was McLaren in front, once it was Mercedes, but we are all behind Red Bull, and at least in the race, they still have a huge gap » finished the Frenchman from Ferrari.
