Unfortunately, the Grand Prix races follow each other and look alike for the Monegasque driver, who faced another tough weekend. It all began on Saturday when he was eliminated in Q2 and only started from 11th position. On Sunday, the situation did not really improve for him as due to a poor strategy, he only finished 14th in the race. A difficult situation to handle for the Monaco winner.

We opted for an aggressive strategy that definitely did not pay off. Furthermore, the heavy rain arrived the next lap, which only happened eight laps later, and we destroyed the intermediates on multiple occasions, which meant we had to stop again. So, yes, once again, a very difficult Sunday.

Leclerc was one of the first to opt for intermediate tires when the rain began to make its appearance on the British track. However, it was not strong enough yet which forced him to return to the pit a few laps later, as his green-flanked tires deteriorated very quickly. From then on, his hopes of finishing in the points were dashed and he finished the race with more than a lap behind. A bold strategy, ultimately failed, but approved by Leclerc as he explained to the media:

« I will come back to it, of course, with the decision, the message I received and the information I had in the car, I felt it was the right one. It was raining heavily at T15. I was told that this time, the rain was going to be very strong, so I stopped to try to anticipate. However, the rain came eight or nine laps later. » The Monegasque is thus self-critical, explaining that it was also his decision while asserting that it was indeed a « bad decision ».

Only fourteenth at the finish, the Monegasque sees Norris pulling away ahead for second place and the Mercedes as well as Piastri catching up to him. Now 105 points behind leader Verstappen, Leclerc hopes to find solutions as soon as possible, he who is always on the wrong side in terms of strategies. So, see you in two weeks in Budapest to see if Ferrari and Leclerc can return to the front.
