He will therefore not have been free for very long. After resigning immediately to Frédéric Vasseur this Monday, Enrico Cardile has just been announced at Aston Martin for the 2025 season as the technical director of the F1 team. A very beneficial recruitment for the British team which has great ambitions for the coming years, especially that of fighting for world titles.

For Cardile, this is the opportunity to take on a new challenge with a new team, after having spent most of his career in the Italian team (he had joined Ferrari in 2005 and had been managing the chassis department since January 2021, as well as the aerodynamics department since 2023).

« I look forward to joining Aston Martin Aramco. Ambition and desire are clear, and it is a unique opportunity to be part of this journey. It is a personal and professional challenge, and I am excited to work with the team to bring success to this iconic brand,” he said following the announcement.

A technical team expanded for Aston Martin.

The President of the Aston Martin team, Lawrence Stroll, wanted to add: “I welcome Enrico to Aston Martin Aramco as we seek to strengthen the technical management team in light of significant regulatory changes in 2026. I am delighted that we continue to attract world-class talent to our team. Enrico shares my motivation to succeed in F1 and will have all the necessary resources to achieve this ambition. With Andy Cowell joining the team as Group CEO in October and our current leaders, we are creating a great team.”

Mike Krack, the team principal, is delighted to welcome Enrico to Aston Martin Aramco. Enrico has nearly 20 years of experience at Ferrari and will bring a fresh perspective to our technical strategy. This is a key appointment for the team as we prepare for the new regulations in 2026 – an important step in our journey.

The leaders of the British team are very happy to have such an experienced man among their ranks, who will be able to bring all his expertise to the team, which is eager to quickly get back to the front of the grid and hopes that with Enrico, they will be able to best prepare for the 2026 regulations.

She certainly has the means as she has also recruited Andy Cowell, former head of Mercedes engines, who will become CEO of Aston Martin starting in October. Top recruits taken from rival teams that could help Aston Martin return to the top. To be continued.
