An increasingly popular format
According to the Formula 1 director, Stefano Domenicali, and the president of the FIA, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the Sprint format seems to be increasingly popular among fans, which demonstrates the importance of the changes introduced during the five years of this format. As the FIA Formula 1 World Championship celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2025, the Sprint will also enter its fifth year as part of the competition. Over time, and thanks to our strong collaboration with Formula 1 and with the input of all teams, it has seen several different iterations and the rules and format have evolved to give us the exciting and popular Sprints that we have today. The six events of 2025 once again include an interesting range of circuits and are sure to provide fans with plenty of additional action throughout the season,” declares Mohammed Ben Sulayem.
The President Stefano Domenicali prefers to highlight the audience that the format has been able to generate on various television channels. The Sprint was a great success for Formula 1, offering all our fans more action and racing on the track. We see evidence of this in our audience data, fan attendance on Fridays, as well as feedback from promoters and partners. As we prepare to celebrate our 75th anniversary in 2025, we will always honor our incredible history, but we must also look to the future, innovate, and improve to offer the best to our growing and diverse fan base. The Sprint is an excellent example of bringing new elements to our sport in a respectful way of the Championship, and I want to thank the six venues that will host the Sprint in 2025 and look forward to these incredible events throughout the season, “Domenicali said.
