At the end of a very lively race, the Porsche driver did an excellent job before the last race of the season.

We will therefore have to wait until the last race of the season to know the driver and team champions of this 10th season of Formula E. The first race of the London ePrix lived up to all its promises and reshuffled the cards at the top of the championship.

On a circuit where overtaking is difficult, the position on the grid is more crucial than anywhere else. At the start, seven drivers still had a chance at the championship title. Starting from pole position and third on the grid, Mitch Evans and Pascal Wehrlein had the best chances to catch up with championship leader Nick Cassidy, who only qualified in 17th place.

At the start, the Jaguar driver managed to stay ahead of Sebastien Buemi. Further on, in a slightly too optimistic overtaking attempt on Robin Frinjs, Jake Dennis forced the Dutch driver to retire. This move led to the first appearance of the safety car.

A few moments after the restart, the champion of season 9 is involved in a new incident, this time with Jean-Eric Vergne. Contacts multiply and once again two title contenders damage carbon, namely Antonio Felix da Costa and Oliver Rowland in the final turn.

In front, the struggle rages between Evans and Buemi who exchange places as they activate the Attack Mode. It’s around the halfway mark that Wehrlein makes his move. Thanks to an overtaking maneuver on Evans in the first turn, he takes the lead, which he will hold until the checkered flag.

A few laps from the end, it’s Maximilian Günther who joins the party. Starting 11th, the Maserati driver could have allowed a German double before his single-seater unfortunately experienced a technical issue.

Other incidents mark the end of the race, notably the collision between Sasha Fenestraz and Norman Nato and the one between Jean-Eric Vergne and Jehan Daruvala.

Wehrlein therefore wins ahead of Evans and Buemi. The Mahindra drivers follow with Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara, who benefits from the fifteen-second penalty imposed on Dennis.

In the championship, everything remains to be done as Wehrlein now leads ahead of Evans by only three points, with Cassidy four units further back. These three men are the only ones who can still compete for the title.
