Sergio Perez is certain that Spa will not be his last race with Red Bull
Sergio Perez is confident about his future with Red Bull, despite rumors that this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix could be his last race with the team.

After signing a new two-year contract with Red Bull, it’s an understatement to say that Sergio Perez has failed to meet expectations. What started as a long-term security for him quickly turned into questions about his presence on the grid for the Dutch Grand Prix this year, the first race after the summer break.
Sources reveal that Red Bull could invoke a clause in its contract to demote or replace Perez if he is more than 100 points behind Max Verstappen at the end of this weekend. Currently, with a deficit of 141 points to Verstappen even before the start of the Belgian Grand Prix, Perez cannot mathematically close this gap in time.
However, the Mexican driver remains adamant: he is not going anywhere.
Interviewed before the Belgian Grand Prix weekend about the certainty that it would not be his last race with Red Bull, Perez replied to the media: “Yes, that’s correct. Because I am,” he insisted. “I know the terms of my contract, and I know that the team trusts me, and I know where the main objective is, which is to perform on the track.”
He added: « I’m not worried, I know where I stand. So, it’s not my concern. My only concern is to get my season back on track. »
Helmut Marko’s comments on Sergio Perez
Despite Perez’s assurance, speculations about the Red Bull drivers persist, fueled by comments from Helmut Marko about planned discussions during the summer break to decide on the line-ups of Red Bull and VCARB.
Asked about Marko’s comments, Perez replied: “I think it’s a question to ask him. I did not speak about this particular point. I feel that the whole team is fully focused on getting our season back on track, and the rest is just pure speculation. The team is working really hard with me to get the season back on track and winning the constructors’ championship is all we are working on. There have been no other discussions than getting our season back on track.”
Regarding whether he is frustrated by Marko’s comments, Perez added: “As I said, that’s how this team works, that’s how it is, and I’m fine with it. I am focused on the team and inside the team to get the maximum out of the team, the car, and the rest, as I said, it’s just pure speculation.”
