The Scuderia Ferrari seems to have had a positive day on Friday on paper, especially in Free Practice 2: Charles Leclerc set the 4th fastest time and Carlos Sainz the 5th. However, the Monegasque driver revealed the challenges the team faced on Friday. He described a difficult day to interpret due to the many variables at play.
«It was a very difficult day to understand, to be honest. There were a lot of differences in pace, different conditions and tires as well. Everyone was on a different lap », explained Charles Leclerc to the media, highlighting the complexities related to the different strategies and setups used by the teams.
For several years, Grand Prix Fridays have become more and more bewildering with the current generations of cars. However, Leclerc noted that this situation has become even more complicated this year. “It has been several years now that it has been difficult to understand the situation on Friday with these generations of cars, but today, it is even more complicated,” he added.

When asked where Ferrari was lacking in performance, Leclerc admitted: « Unfortunately, we are facing difficulties. Compared to McLaren in particular, it’s a bit everywhere. » He acknowledged that the team did not have a miraculous solution to suddenly improve their performance, but insisted that they would give their best. « We don’t have a magic solution for tomorrow, but we will give our best.
