Lewis Hamilton, voted Driver of the Day, reclaims victory at the Belgian Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton was voted Driver of the Day at the Belgian Grand Prix... And reclaims victory from George Russell, who was disqualified for incorrect car weight.

We would like to be a little mouse to sneak into the Mercedes motorhome tonight in Spa. George Russell has just been disqualified because of the weight of his non-compliant car (1.5 kg below the minimum limit), it is his garage neighbor Lewis Hamilton who receives the trophy for the Belgian Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion will be able to console himself, as he seemed visibly disgusted to have stopped twice, and not once, like his teammate.
He will not have disgraced himself in the eyes of the spectators either, since Lewis Hamilton was elected as the driver of the day at Spa, even though he finished only 0.526 seconds behind Russell. This is his second victory of the season, after winning the British Grand Prix, and the 105th of his career. A good move in terms of points, as he will thus regain the 25 points for first place, instead of the 18 points.
Lewis Hamilton 👏👏👏
