One of the finest actions of the season, a battle between 5 drivers in the Netherlands (video)
The Dutch Grand Prix produced some of the finest action since the start of the season on the 40th lap of the race, with five single-seaters - two Aston Martins, an Alpine, a Williams and a Haas. In the end, it was Pierre Gasly who took the lead.
On the 40th lap of the Dutch Grand Prix, five Formula 1 drivers offered us one of the most beautiful actions that we have seen in a long time. As four drivers with new tires closed in on Kevin Magnussen (Haas), still equipped with his old tires from the start, the five drivers found themselves on the same straight line.
Kevin Magnussen saw Alex Albon overtaking him on his left and then Pierre Gasly before seeing Fernando Alonso overtaking him on the right and then Lance Stroll.
First to overtake Kevin Magnussen, Alex Albon with the DRS then saw Pierre Gasly’s Alpine charging up on his left with the slipstream. In the end, starting 12th at the beginning of the lap, Pierre Gasly gained two places in one go.
