Max Verstappen: “I tried to do the best I could”
In front of his home crowd, the Dutch driver was no match for the impressive pace of Lando Norris's McLaren during the race.
They had, however, come in very large numbers to support him. The orange wave that flooded the stands of Zandvoort throughout the weekend saw its favorite driver bow on his home turf for the first time. Despite a good start that allowed him to lead the race for about ten laps, Max Verstappen had to admit defeat.
