Russell is expecting another close race in Singapore
George Russell benefited from the collision between Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez to climb onto the podium during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The British driver is expecting another intense battle in Singapore this weekend.

Present at the press conference this Thursday, George Russell once again expects a closely fought race in Singapore. « I feel that every race we participate in at the moment, every circuit is unique in its own way. It’s so competitive at the front. One or two tenths can make the difference between a front row and a sixth or seventh,” expressed the Mercedes driver.

Russell must hope to repeat his nice podium achieved last week in Baku. Although he benefited from the <a href="/f1/actualite/34770-crash-sainz-vs-perez-accident-evitable-regrettable.html" title="Sainz vs Perez Crash: An avoidable and regrettable accident."
"Clash in the final laps between Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez. Above all, the Briton will have to show composure on the Marina Bay track, unlike last year."

3rd in front of his teammate in the last lap of the 2023 edition, George Russell had finally gone straight, leaving the podium to Hamilton. But the former Williams driver hopes to see equally performing Silver Arrows on the Marina Bay circuit: “We were very strong here last year, so I hope we can continue in this direction. […] We were really competitive in the second stint last week, and with this fourth DRS zone, overtaking may be possible, but it will still depend on qualifying.”
