Many tributes to Ayrton Senna.

On the occasion of the Brazilian Grand Prix this weekend, Pirelli has chosen to pay tribute to the triple world champion with podium caps adorned with the colors of the Brazilian flag, incorporating Senna’s logo. That’s not all, as the prize for the pole position will be auctioned off, in partnership with the Senna Institute, to support causes that were dear to him.

In this line of tributes, Honda and McLaren also plan to revive the famous McLaren MP4/5B, the car with which Ayrton Senna won his second world championship title in 1990.

The identity of the driver who will have the privilege of taking a ceremonial lap behind the wheel of this single-seater remains secret for now and will be announced shortly before the start of the weekend.

After this lap, the McLaren MP4/5B will be displayed in the pit lane and the fans present at the circuit will not fail to evoke the memory of Magic Senna, delighted to hear again the melodious sound of the Honda V10.

A year under the sign of Senna

McLaren, with which Senna won all his world titles, had already honored his memory earlier in the year by presenting a <a href=" /f1/news/33611-McLaren-unveils-ayrton-senna-tribute-livery-monaco.html "title=" McLaren unveils Ayrton Senna tribute livery in Monaco.

"Specifically dedicated delivery to the Brazilian pilot, during the Monaco Grand Prix . This circuit, where Senna shone by winning six victories, has become a landmark place linked to his legacy.”

During his exceptional career, Ayrton Senna triumphed twice on his home soil, in 1991 and 1993.

His first victory, in 91, made a lasting impression during a memorable race where his car suddenly found itself stuck in sixth gear. Determined to win despite this setback, Senna continued the race to finally win it, exhausted both physically and mentally.

Thirty years after his disappearance, the name of Senna still resonates in the hearts of Formula 1 fans, who continue to pay tribute to a true legend of this sport.
