Esteban Ocon believes that Alpine can catch up with their delay
After a series of disappointing results, Esteban Ocon believes in the revival of Alpine following McLaren's strong performances.

Alpine is struggling after the Austrian and British Grand Prix. The French team only scored three points during the two race weekends.
On the contrary, McLaren, which was the rival of the French team last season, scored 42 points in the last two races of the World Championship. Despite poor results, French driver Esteban Ocon still believes in his team’s comeback.
A trend that quickly reverses
« I think we were in much better shape than McLaren at the beginning of the season and there were two races, but it shows how quickly things can change. We also have bigger things planned for our car that will come before the summer break, so we will try to go fast as well and hopefully that will help us, said the number 31 of Alpine.
« The front wing has helped, it has definitely gone in the right direction. But we definitely need more, and the step McLaren has taken is really big », the driver continued in the press conference.
Improvements to come
Alpine plans for improvements before the summer break. The team based in Enstone and Viry-Châtillon brought a new front wing during the British Grand Prix. An improvement that could not be verified as both cars had to retire during the race at Silverstone.
Other developments are planned for the Spa weekend. « Yes, it should be a step in the right direction, it should also work with what’s coming later. »
On the land of his first victory
Formula 1 is moving to Hungary this weekend. A circuit that the Normand (reference to a French driver) particularly likes. Esteban Ocon won his first victory at the Hungaroring. « Budapest is one of my favorite circuits. Last year, I qualified fifth. So I hope we will get a good result there. And as I said, there will soon be big things for the car. So we have high hopes for ourselves and I hope it will work out. »
