8 Hours of Bahrain: Ferrari penalized, Peugeot on the podium
The information came out during the night. Ferrari #51 has been penalized by the stewards. The crew used too many tires during the 8 Hours of Bahrain. Peugeot #93 is therefore moving up to the podium.

Even if it’s not the most beautiful way to get on the podium, they take it. A few hours after the end of the 8 Hours of Bahrain, the race stewards published a document indicating that Ferrari #51 was penalized. It was found guilty of using two more tires than the allocation provided for the whole weekend: 28 instead of 26.
As a result, the Giovinazzi – Pier Guidi – Calado crew received two two-minute stop and go penalties. Unable to carry them out, they were directly added to the race time of the red car.
This means that the Ferrari is last in this stage of the World Endurance Championship and that all the candidates who completed the race move up one place. This therefore offers a podium to Peugeot and its #93. This is the second for the French brand after the one in Monza in 2023. As a reminder, the #94 retired during the race.
Alpine also gains a position and has thus completed its return in the Hypercar category with a fourth place. Team A arrowed finished in style after the podium at Fuji.
