Lewis Hamilton did not hide his discontent when he described his Mercedes as terrible at the end of the Brazilian Grand Prix.

In response to a question about the issues with the W15, the Briton emphasized the complexity of the situation he is in: « It’s up to you to tell me. If you find the answer, I will give you a million dollars. »

The last straw at Interlagos.

Qualifying and the sprint race were failures, and Hamilton said the race itself was rubbish. For him, the best part of the weekend was being compared to Senna.

During the communication with his team on the radio after the race, Hamilton expressed his despair at the car’s performance: « It was a disastrous weekend, guys. It’s the worst performance the car has ever had. »

He who has often complained about the rigidity of current cars since the ground effect era noted that the situation had reached a new threshold of difficulty at Interlagos: « It’s like a plank of wood. It’s as if there is no suspension.

Looking towards Ferrari.

As he is about to leave for Ferrari, he admitted that he didn’t feel motivated to give his best with Mercedes, confessing that his focus was more on his future in red: “I could very well go on vacation right now. But of course, I am very interested in my future.”

As Mercedes plans to “sacrifice” the rest of Hamilton’s season for the development of next year’s car, the British driver expressed his gratitude towards the team, while also expressing regret that the outcome of his journey is not more positive.

With three races left to compete in Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi, Hamilton admitted that he is not really aiming for victory anymore: « If they give me a car that doesn’t bounce in the next three races, maybe I can achieve a better result. But yes, I’m looking forward to Christmas.”

The seven-time world champion seems to have lost his enthusiasm to continue fighting with Mercedes, focusing instead on the future and the promise of new challenges with Ferrari: “I am not fighting for the world championship, so no matter where I finish. I don’t care if I’m ahead or behind George. It doesn’t make any difference anymore.”
