Max Verstappen tests an LMDh and Yuki Tsunoda an Indycar

On the eve of the start of the Grand Prix in Las Vegas, Red Bull drivers Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda had the opportunity to test other Honda Group cars. As part of a promotional operation, the Dutchman did a few laps in the LMDh, used in IMSA, and the Japanese driver took the wheel of an Indycar.

Honda organized a large gathering at the Thermal Club, a private circuit with a track that has already hosted a non-championship race of Indycar. An opportunity to celebrate the rapprochement between the two entities of the brand (the headquarters in Japan and the one in the United States). It is at this place that the former Formula 1 driver, Logan Sargeant, carried out his first IndyCar test.

The Dutchman was not alone as Sergio Perez, Liam Lawson, and Yuki Tsunoda were also present. There were also Indycar drivers, including six-time champion Scott Dixon and four-time winner of the Indianapolis 500 Helio Castroneves.

On the car side, the Indycar of Alex Palou, the reigning champion, was there, along with the Acura GTP from the Meyer Shank Racing team, entered in IMSA, the North American endurance championship, plus a model that participated in the Pikes Peak hill climb, and finally a CR-V equipped with an Indycar engine and transmission. Each of the four drivers got to do a few laps with one of these vehicles.

Yuki Tsunoda drove the Indycar while Max Verstappen treated himself to a little time behind the wheel of the Acura ARX-06. The Dutch driver seemed to enjoy the experience driving the 680-horsepower prototype.
