Max Verstappen world champion for the 4th time
Max Verstappen is once again crowned world champion after finishing 5th in Las Vegas this Sunday. At only 27 years old, he joins legends such as Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel in terms of number of titles.

The scenarios were in his favor, and now it’s done. Max Verstappen wins the World Champion title, the fourth in four seasons, after finishing fifth in the Las Vegas Grand Prix, his starting position.
The end of hegemony
After an almost perfect 2023 season, Max Verstappen found it more difficult this season. By winning four out of the first five races of the season, it seemed that he was on track to continue his overwhelming domination, but the Dutch giant finally had to face fierce competition.
Carlos Sainz, Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, and Oscar Piastri came to steal the top step of the podium from him several times. He even experienced a drought period by competing in 10 consecutive Grand Prix without a victory. Despite this, his comfortable lead in the championship, thanks to his good early season results and numerous podium finishes, did not allow Lando Norris, his runner-up, to catch up with him.
He thus wins the 2024 championship. Verstappen joins Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel in the very exclusive circle of those who have been world champions four times. An even more exclusive circle, only three drivers have so far managed to win the title for four consecutive years: Juan Manuel Fangio (five titles), Michael Schumacher (seven titles), and Lewis Hamilton (seven titles).
