The standings after the Las Vegas Grand Prix: Max Verstappen crowned champion, Lando Norris consolidates his second place

By finishing fifth at the Las Vegas Grand Prix this Sunday morning, Max Verstappen secured his fourth consecutive Formula 1 world champion title. The Dutchman outpaced his main rival in the standings, Lando Norris, who finished just behind him in sixth place. With this achievement, Max Verstappen continues to strengthen his legacy in F1 history.

George Russell has strengthened his status as a confirmed talent in 2024! The British driver, who clinched pole position this weekend, dominated the Las Vegas Grand Prix to claim his second victory of the season after the one he obtained in Austria. Mercedes shone with a one-two finish, thanks to a superb comeback by Lewis Hamilton, who finished second after starting tenth on the grid. But this Grand Prix will be remembered with the crowning of Max Verstappen this season. The Dutchman clinches his fourth Formula 1 world title by finishing ahead of Lando Norris, his main rival. With 403 points against 340 for the British driver from the McLaren team, Max Verstappen secures the championship before the last two races of the season in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Now, the battle is on for the second place in the championship between Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc (319 points).

On the constructors’ side, the championship remains very competitive. McLaren, leading with 608 points, sees Ferrari dangerously coming back with just 24 points less, while Red Bull keeps a chance with its 555 points. In the midfield, Haas has regained 6th place from Alpine thanks to Nico Hülkenberg’s 8th position, further intensifying the excitement of this captivating season.
