Andretti Cadillac continues to work on its integration on the Formula 1 grid. The team is strengthening its workforce with the arrival of Rob White, a respected engineer and former technical director of engines at Renault. He now holds the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Andretti Global.

Rob White is well known in the Formula 1 world, for his long career at Renault, where he was technical director of the engines, then deputy general director of the engine operations from 2004 to 2016. He contributed to Renault’s success as a factory team during the titles of 2005 and 2006, as well as to Red Bull’s era of dominance between 2010 and 2013, where the team won several driver and constructor championship doubles.

More recently, Rob White was Chief Operations Officer at Renault/Alpine in Enstone, a role he left last June, as part of a restructuring led by Bruno Famin.

In a context where Andretti is in the middle of a recruitment campaign to attract the best available talents, Rob White’s expertise in operations makes him a major asset as the team pursues its goal of joining the F1 grid.

In an announcement posted on LinkedIn, Rob White said: “I am happy to share that I have just started as Chief Operating Officer – Andretti Cadillac at Andretti Global. I am excited to join the team. My first impressions are extremely positive in view of everything that has already been accomplished by those who came before me. I look forward to the challenges ahead.”

A reinforced team

The arrival of Rob White will reunite him with several former colleagues from Renault, including Nick Chester (technical director), Jon Tomlinson (head of aerodynamics), and soon Pat Symonds, who is expected to join the team as an engineering consultant.

The joint efforts of Andretti and General Motors/Cadillac to obtain a green light for the 2026 season are progressing. Recent discussions between F1 officials and GM have been more positive, especially since Michael Andretti handed over the reins of Andretti Global to majority owner Dan Towriss, CEO of Group 1001.

Dan Towriss was seen in the paddock of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, **where additional discussions took place regarding the potential entry of Andretti and GM**. Although General Motors cannot produce its own engine before 2028, it has been suggested that Andretti could start with **an engine partnership with Ferrari as early as 2026**.
