McLaren has not yet fully exploited the potential of its novelties and will have more in Hungary
McLaren will bring a new update to its car in Hungary to continue gaining time during the race.

After standing on the podium during the British Grand Prix, the McLaren team will once again bring upgrades for the Hungarian Grand Prix in 10 days.
Engineer Andrea Stella stated: « New gains are currently being made at the factory, which can help make it even faster. For Hungary, we have other updates that will further aid in improving race pace. This will be available for both drivers.
The new package will not be the final evolution for the team based in Woking.
« Like any other team, we will continue to bring improvements to the following races. And it is also thanks to the fact that once we started rethinking the car, we somehow unlocked its performance. And through iterations, we continue to see aerodynamic development being quite effective,” explains the Italian engineer.
The objective for McLaren is to be back on the podium regularly and to try to compete with the Austrian team Red Bull for the rest of the season.
Andrea Stella admits that the advantage brought by the British team had surprised the engineer. « Sometimes, you actually find surprises like these upgrades that we brought in Austria and Great Britain. We didn’t expect this improvement in terms of lap time. »
Despite the good result achieved in Silverstone, the team remains cautious about the effectiveness of its car. For McLaren, the British Grand Prix was favorable for the car driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
« Obviously, the indications from the race are quite encouraging. We surprised ourselves in the first stint by managing to keep our competitors like Ferrari and Mercedes behind. We thought they would be a problem for us in terms of pace. However, as I keep reminding you, we are on a high-speed circuit, and actually here at Silverstone, some of the corners were flat out in qualifying, but not in the race, explains the 52-year-old engineer.
