Max Verstappen’s message on the radio, “stupid idiots” aimed at the FIA went unnoticed

During the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, a radio communication from Max Verstappen suggested a statement of irritation directed at the race marshals who had just penalized him. By calling them "stupid idiots," he could have been questioned by the FIA, but so far, no communication has taken place on the subject.

During the first turn of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Max Verstappen tried to slip inside Oscar Piastri to take the second place of the Grand Prix. However, the Red Bull driver touched the left rear tire of the McLaren and caused both drivers to spin out at the exit of the first turn.

This incident had a strong impact on Oscar Piastri’s race who was fighting for his team’s constructor championship against Ferrari, and the FIA judged Max Verstappen guilty.

The Dutch driver received a 10-second penalty during his tire change. The total cost of his pit stop was over 13 seconds and as he left the pits, the now four-time Formula 1 world champion did not mince his words about the race stewards who had just penalized him.

« Stupides idiots »

On the radio, Max Verstappen uttered a message of annoyance as he exited the pits. Can we ask why 20 seconds? Stupid idiots. This message is clearly aimed at those who made the decision to give him a 10-second penalty. But if usually being offensive towards the FIA is penalized, a bit like a football player complaining to the referee would receive a yellow card, here Max Verstappen seems to have, for the moment, escaped the sanction.

Max Verstappen has already been penalized this year by the FIA for doing community service after swearing several times in the press room. In order to maintain a correct vocabulary in front of the public and TV, the FIA has indeed asked drivers to control their language.

Max Verstappen will have to accompany drivers to Rwanda on the sidelines of the FIA awards ceremony and help promote the FIA Affordable Cross Car program, which consists of locally-built vehicles aimed at promoting motorsport in the country.
