The English government formalizes Cadillac Formula Racing in place of Andretti Racing
It's legally done. The English company registered in the United Kingdom as the base for the future 11th Formula 1 team was renamed this week: Cadillac Formula Racing.
The government has published the document that formalizes the new name of the company that will manage the future 11th Formula 1 team. Previously called Andretti Racing Limited, the company was renamed on December 13, 2024, Cadillac Formula Racing Limited.
It is this company, acquired by General Motors and Cadillac, that will employ the staff of the future 11th Formula 1 team to be registered in the World Championship in 2026. Renamed Cadillac, the team will be directed by Graeme Lowdon.
General Motors had announced in a bombastic manner the company’s entry into Formula 1 when Andretti applied alone as a candidate to become the 11th F1 team. After the application was rejected, Liberty Media and F1 said they were ready to welcome the team if it had the support of a major automotive manufacturer. GM has thus fully committed to the project with its brand already involved in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Cadillac.
The team is currently based in Silverstone and will be officially powered by Ferrari for its first two seasons before GM develops its own engine.
