Sophia Flörsch is heading towards Indycar and Indy NXT
The German will not be on the Formula 3 grid nor in Formula 2 next year. She is expected to commit to a program in Indy NXT in the United States.

Throughout her career, she has experienced many difficult moments. Besides her terrible accident in Macau, Sophia Flörsch has repeatedly faced rejections, mainly due to a lack of support and funding.
Although she had the opportunity to sign with WRT, one of the best endurance teams, in 2022, she did not have sufficient financial guarantees to claim that seat. The same was true for Algarve Pro Racing, which notably allowed her to compete in her third Le Mans classic, but ended the collaboration shortly after for financial reasons.
An opportunity in Formula 2
Since summer 2022, the German driver has been supported by Alpine and its Rac(H)er program. This was supposed to allow her to join the French team’s Hypercar program. However, Sophia Flörsch preferred to focus on single-seaters, hence her return to Formula 3 in 2023 and 2024.
But after a complicated year, with several setbacks and no points scored, the Munich native finds herself without a seat. According to our information, she had an opportunity in Formula 2, but it couldn’t materialize. Again, the issue was money. She didn’t have the required amount to compete for the entire season. Alpine is also said to have withdrawn its support from the young woman who recently celebrated her 24th birthday.
Testing in Indy NXT
The situation would therefore explain her stance and her remarks concerning a lack of fulfillment of certain promises regarding the inclusion of women in motorsport.
Late October, the one who participated three times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans had the opportunity to test an Indy NXT with HMD Motorsports. At the time, no announcement had been made regarding a potential collaboration. But, according to our sources, Sophia Flörsch is expected to make a comeback in this American championship. An official announcement is expected shortly.
