Lewis Hamilton bid farewell to the Mercedes factory with an honor convoy and fireworks
Lewis Hamilton returned to say goodbye to his colleagues at the Brackley factory after concluding the last Grand Prix of his F1 career with Mercedes. On this occasion, local fans and employees came in large numbers to greet him one last time.
Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes means 12 years with the team and 7 World Drivers’ Championship titles accumulated during this period. The Brit was at home in the team, mainly based in Brackley, in the “Formula 1 valley” where most teams are located within a 150 km radius.
Lewis Hamilton’s last Grand Prix with Mercedes took place in Abu Dhabi, making a very nice comeback to finish in 4th place, and he was then able to visit the Brackley factory to bid farewell to employees and colleagues.

For the occasion, many fans gathered around the factory, on the avenue now named Niki Lauda, which leads to the factory.
Lewis Hamilton left the factory with a guard of honor, in a convertible Mercedes coupé, despite the few snowflakes falling at the end of the day in the UK. Having achieved 84 victories with Mercedes out of the 105 recorded to his name, he has left an indelible mark on the history of the German brand.

In addition to the fans, Mercedes gathered all the single-seaters he drove during his 12 seasons and ended the convoy to accompany Lewis Hamilton with numerous fireworks. A moment undoubtedly etched in the Briton’s memory.

After a few days of vacation and the end-of-year celebrations, Lewis Hamilton will don the highly anticipated red suit of the prancing horse for the first time, with whom he will continue his F1 career alongside Charles Leclerc.
