Théo Pourchaire leaves Sauber and its program
Sauber has announced the departure of the French driver. Théo Pourchaire will concentrate on his WEC program with Peugeot.

This is not entirely a surprise. After a rather difficult year in 2024 and with some disappointments, Théo Pourchaire has just ended his collaboration with Sauber and its junior program.
The Frenchman, after his title in Formula 2, dreamed of Formula 1 but had not managed to secure a seat. He had to settle for his position as a reserve driver. Even for 2025, the Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto was preferred over him.
Since 2019 at Sauber
Without a drive for 2024, he had therefore headed to Japan and the Super Formula. A discipline through which, among others, Pierre Gasly had passed before joining Formula 1. In parallel, he had obtained a brief opportunity in IndyCar before the adventure was cut short, once again.
A few weeks ago, Théo Pourchaire joined the Peugeot endurance program with its 9X8. He holds the status of a reserve driver in the French team.
The Frenchman joined the Sauber adventure in 2019 during his title in Formula 4 Germany. He then climbed the ranks to be crowned in Formula 2, last year.
