Sergio Perez reacts positively to his ousting from Red Bull

It's finally official: Sergio Perez is leaving Red Bull after 4 years with the Austrian team. The Mexican driver, who knew he'd been under threat for several seasons already in F1, leaves on a positive note and encourages his former team for the future. Although he's positive, he won't say any more about his future in motorsports.

This is an announcement that has been anticipated since the beginning of the week, along with the exclusive information from Canal+. Sergio Perez will no longer race in Formula 1 with Red Bull next year. The Austrian team has just officially confirmed the information.

The announcement is very succinct from Red Bull and no information indicates whether Sergio Perez will drive for the sister team, Racing Bulls. Indeed, for now, only the statement on Red Bull’s social media explains: After 4 successful seasons, Sergio Perez and Red Bull have reached an agreement to part ways.

Sergio Perez, on his part, released a slightly more detailed statement to thank his team, and without fans:

« After four incredible seasons together, Oracle Red Bull Racing and Sergio Pérez have reached an agreement to part ways. During this period, Checo played a crucial role by winning several Grand Prix, numerous podiums, as well as two Constructors’ World Championship titles, significantly contributing to one of the most successful eras in the team’s Formula 1 history. »

The Mexican is positive and wants to remain dignified in this misstep: « I am incredibly grateful for these last four years with Red Bull Racing and for the opportunity to race with such an exceptional team. Driving for Red Bull has been an unforgettable experience, and I will always cherish the success we have achieved together. We have broken records, reached remarkable milestones, and I have had the privilege to meet so many incredible people along the way. »

« A huge thank you to every member of the team, from the managers to the engineers and mechanics, not forgetting the catering, hospitality, kitchen, marketing and communication services, as well as all the staff in Milton Keynes. I wish you all the best for the future. »

His teammate for 4 seasons, Sergio Perez also wants to thank his teammate, Max Verstappen, whose shadow he practically remained in during all his seasons.

« It was also an honor to race alongside Max as a teammate all these years and to share our success. »

A special thank you to fans around the world, and especially to Mexican fans for their unwavering support every day. We’ll see you soon.

« And don’t forget… Never give up! »
