Max Verstappen is extending his lead in the championship
Max Verstappen continues to dominate this world championship. Lando Norris is climbing up to 9th place in the drivers' standings.

After another victory by Max Verstappen, his 8th in 11 Grand Prix races, the Dutchman has taken a big step towards a third world title in his career. The Red Bull driver has a 99-point lead over his closest competitor and teammate, Sergio Perez.
Max Verstappen has 255 points and Sergio Perez has 156 points in 11 races. An advantage that keeps increasing, especially due to multiple mistakes by the Mexican driver during the last qualifying sessions (Perez hasn’t made it to Q3 since Miami).
Further down in the standings, it is the British driver Lando Norris who pulled off the best move during this British Grand Prix. The McLaren driver scored 18 points in Silverstone, now sits in 9th place in the world championship and overtakes the Frenchman Esteban Ocon.
Lewis Hamilton is also getting closer to the podium in the world championship after his 3rd place finish at his home Grand Prix. The Englishman is currently fourth in the championship and has gained 9 points on Fernando Alonso, who is currently in 3rd place.
