Lewis Hamilton involved in an accident during his second test session with Ferrari in Barcelona
Lewis Hamilton crashed during his second F1 test session with Ferrari in Barcelona.

The seven-time world champion lost control of his car in the final part of the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit and hit the barriers, according to Sky Italia.
A costly accident
Lewis Hamilton emerged unscathed from the accident, but the 2023 Ferrari suffered damage that is expected to delay his teammate Charles Leclerc’s scheduled session in the afternoon.
The Ferrari single-seater has sustained significant damage to the suspension and some aerodynamic parts. The Italian team is currently assessing the condition of the SF-23 to determine if Charles Leclerc will be able to drive as planned in the afternoon.
Tuesday, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc shared the test day, with the Monegasque driver taking the track in the morning before handing over to the Brit in the afternoon. Today, it was Lewis Hamilton’s turn to take to the track first, but his accident disrupted Ferrari’s schedule.
This incident represents a setback for the seven-time world champion as he continues his preparations for his highly anticipated debut with the Scuderia.
Not a first for Lewis Hamilton
Interestingly, this is not the first time Lewis Hamilton has had an accident during his initial F1 testing with a team.
Before his rookie season in 2007, he had a high-speed accident with McLaren. In 2013, during his test debut with Mercedes, he also experienced a brake failure. This is the third time this has happened to him.
According to AutoRacer, Ferrari will call on its reserve driver Antonio Giovinazzi as well as Dino Beganovic for the final day of their private test on Thursday.
