The 2025 season has officially started for Red Bull Racing and Ford, marking the beginning of a pivotal collaboration for the future of the team. The launch took place in Charlotte, USA, in front of more than 1,800 fans and partners, where Christian Horner, Red Bull team director, and Liam Lawson, new teammate of Max Verstappen, were present to share their enthusiasm. “The partnership with Ford is a cornerstone of the entire project,” explained Horner. Indeed, in the field of motor racing, Ford is far from being a minor player. With 120 years of experience and success, the brand has established itself as a key player. For Horner, this event is also a nod to the many challenges ahead. “It’s an extremely exciting time for the team,” he added. Liam Lawson, for his part, is happy to join the Ford family: “It’s such an interesting partner and a brand I’ve loved for a long time.”

A strategic alliance and support for female talent

This partnership, prepared for 2026, has a very clear objective: developing powerful and reliable power units for Red Bull Racing and the Racing Bulls. The director of the Red Bull team is confident; this collaboration is, above all, a story of talents: “Formula 1, like any business, is a people sport,” reminded Horner. “You must have the best people. The best designers, engineers, and technicians.” And even though the pressure is enormous, Jim Farley, the boss of Ford, is well aware of what’s ahead: “The pressure is going to be very strong,” he states. “Everyone is counting on Ford. We need to win.”

Beyond technology and performance, Ford is also committed to diversity in motorsport. An essential aspect of the partnership with Red Bull is the support for the Red Bull Ford Academy program, which supports female talents like Chloe Chambers. The young girl, a driver for the Red Bull Academy program since October 2024, has expressed particular enthusiasm: “It’s an honor to team up with an iconic American automotive company like Ford.” She is ready to start the 2025 season of the F1 Academy.

The Challenge of 2026

We know that in F1, it’s a battle for every single position. And when it comes to engines, it’s outright warfare. Ferrari, Mercedes, Honda, and now Audi, the year 2026 will be marked by significant changes in Formula 1 regulations, and Red Bull, alongside Ford, will be directly involved in supplying new power units. “We are going to face some strong opponents. Ferrari, Mercedes, Honda… it’s going to be super competitive!” concluded Horner with a big smile at the official Ford Performance event. And it’s clear that Red Bull and Ford are not the type to shy away from competition. “We have 48 weeks left to make this engine powerful and reliable,” Horner specified. Needless to say, there’s a lot of work to be done!
