All the drivers on the grid in Formula 2 this 2025 season
Just like in Formula 1, Formula 2 begins 2025 with many rookies. The stakes are high for these drivers: if they prove themselves now, they could secure a spot in Formula 1 later. Here's a recap of the grid before the imminent start of the season.

If the F1 season starts this weekend, the same goes for F2. First, here is a summary table of the drivers involved and their teams’ results in 2024.

Invicta Racing
This is the reigning champion team, with 288.5 points scored in 2024. Their main drivers are **Leonardo Fornaroli**, the reigning F3 champion, and **Roman Stanek**, who was let go by Trident. Stanek will have the chance to prove himself now that he’s in an excellent team. As for Leonardo Fornaroli, since it’s his first season in F2, he’ll have to prove that he measures up to this more demanding discipline.
Campos Racing
Josep Maria Marti will race alongside Arvid Lindblad, champion in Formula Oceania. The young Lindblad is starting his very first season in F2. As a reminder, this is where Isack Hadjar raced before his arrival in F1, although Campos Racing finished 2nd in the championship in 2024 with 254 points.
MP Motorsport
On the last step of the podium last year with 220.5 points, MP Motorsport entrusts its single-seaters to Richard Verschoor and Oliver Goethe.
« I think my long stints need a bit of work compared to Richard in Abu Dhabi », explained Goethe. « He did a very good stint in the main race. He has a lot of experience, so it’s good to learn from someone like him. »
Prema Racing
5th last year with 194 points, the Italian team chose Gabriele Minì as well as Sebastian Montoya, another rookie, to defend the team on the track.
« Honestly, I feel pretty good. I know that I have a strong team behind me, which has historically won a lot of things », declared Minì.
Rodin Motorsport
Two rookies were planned, Christian Mansell and Alexander Dunne, but Amaury Cordeel was called in to replace Mansell, who withdrew for personal reasons.
With its 171 points in 2024 and 8th place in the championship, Rodin Motorsport will be able to benefit from Cordeel’s experience, present in F2 since 2022.
Hitech Grand Prix
Just off the podium in 2024, Hitech GP will aim for the podium with Dino Beganovic and Luke Browning. Browning competed in part of last season in F2, but this is his first time being appointed for the full season in F2. As for Beganovic, he only participated in two races in 2024.
ART Grand Prix
These are Ritomo Miyata and Victor Martins, extended in the team, who will drive for ART.
“I’m so happy and always honored to be part of this team,” Martins said about extending his contract. “I’ve been working with them for two years in F2, one year in F3, and previously in Formula Renault, so I know everyone at every level.” Last year, the team finished 7th, scoring 173 points.
DAMS Lucas Oil
Jak Crawford and Kush Maini have been signed by DAMS. Additionally, Kush Maini has been confirmed by the Alpine F1 Team as a reserve driver for the 2025 season.
Trident Motorsport
Max Esterson and Sami Meguetounif, two rookies, have joined Trident, one of the weaker teams on the grid: 10th in 2024 with 105 points, the team still has a good margin for improvement. Its director, Giacomo Ricci, explains that the team has focused on innovation: in addition to the appointment of two rookies, Trident has new parts and a new pit stop team, and I must say that the new members did a good job for their first official outing in this category. Furthermore, according to him, Sami and Max did a good job. It was a good learning experience for them. It would be nice to have three more days, but we are all extremely motivated and looking forward to being in Melbourne.
AIX Racing
Joshua Dürksen and Cian Shields will race for AIX Racing. Shields only competed in 4 F2 races in 2024, already alongside Dürksen. He had taken over from Niels Koolen and Taylor Barnard: perhaps with a full season, he will help the team rise higher than their 9th place in last year’s constructors’ standings.
VAR
Van Amersfoort Racing entrusts its single-seaters to Rafael Villagomez and John Bennett, who participated in 2 races last year with the same team. “The tests went well,” said team director Brad Joyce. “There have been a lot of ups and downs, but we’ve learned a lot,” he congratulates himself. Perhaps the 2025 season will go better than 2024, where the team finished 11th with only 78 points.
