WEC: Several teams in private testing at Spa
Toyota, Porsche, BMW and Aston Martin organized a test drive at Spa on Saturday April 5. This was in preparation for the 6 Hours of Spa, the third round of the WEC season.
A little detour before heading to Imola. On Saturday, April 4th, four manufacturers participated in a private test at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, as revealed by our Belgian colleagues from the DH.
We could find Toyota, Porsche, BMW, and Aston Martin. All these teams presented with their hypercars. The objective of this run was to gain experience and familiarize themselves with this track, which will host the third round of the World Endurance Championship, a few weeks before the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
These few kilometers will primarily benefit Aston Martin, which is lacking benchmarks as this is the brand’s first endeavor in the top endurance category. The Valkyrie has had very little track time since it left the company’s factories. It will participate in its first European race on April 18 in Imola.
A few weeks later, the teams will return to Belgium for the 6 Hours of Spa. This event is considered a dress rehearsal before the championship’s must-attend event, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The tests will resume on Sunday, April 5, in Spa, indicates the DH.
