Ferrari aims to maintain momentum at 6 Hours of Imola
After completing a hat-trick of victories at the 1,812 km Qatar race, the Italian team will be looking to confirm its good form on home soil.
A triple Fratelli d’Italia. In Qatar, we had a triple dose of Ferrari on the podium. The 499Ps dominated the competition during the opening round of the World Endurance Championship. Although this performance was criticized due to a rather favorable BoP, the cards will be reshuffled in Imola.
Normally, Italian cars should fall in line and face tougher competition. Despite this, the leaders of the Scuderia remain confident. They even hope to shine on their home turf, as Imola is only a few kilometers from Maranello.
For that, we mustn’t stumble. If Ferrari still shines at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with perfect strategies and excellent race management, last year at Imola, that wasn’t the case.
The two official Hypercars were overtaken by Toyota and lost everything in the rain due to gross strategic errors.
The 6 Hours of Imola will therefore already have their importance for what follows. Either they will daze the other brands as the Le Mans classic approaches, or they will have to continue making significant efforts to try to claim the world crown at the end of the year.
