Haas F1 drivers return to Jeddah on a circuit they love
After their fine performances in Bahrain, Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman are back on a track where they have fond memories and where they hope to build on their success.

Currently 5th in the constructors’ championship, the Haas F1 team is having a satisfactory start to the season. Despite a difficult first race in Australia, at least one of the two VF-25s has always managed to score points. In fact, the American team had a very impressive double points finish at the last race held at the Sakhir circuit. Thanks to these results, Haas F1 is considered the best of the rest behind the four top teams, McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull, and Ferrari, with a slight lead over its rival Williams.
Another reason for satisfaction for Ayao Komatsu and his team is the seamless integration of the two new drivers, Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman. In Saudi Arabia, the English rookie will return to the circuit where he made his debut just a year ago at the wheel of a Ferrari, when he stepped in for Carlos Sainz and finished in a commendable 7th place.
« I’m very excited to return to Jeddah because it will be the first time I compete in a race on a track where I’ve already raced in an F1. Last year’s experience helped me a lot and put a spotlight on my career. Making my debut with Ferrari on such a circuit will always have a special place in my heart », said the 19-year-old driver.
Highly appreciated by drivers for its fast sections and urban nature that does not forgive mistakes, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit is also one of Bearman’s favorites.
Even before my debut in Formula 1, I already enjoyed driving in Jeddah because of its very fast nature and the thrill of driving quickly between the walls. So I’m really looking forward to going back there and experiencing a full weekend, from practice to the race.
Recently finishing 8th in the Bahrain Grand Prix, Esteban Ocon is also eager to return to a track where he came close to a podium finish during the first edition of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in 2021.
« The Jeddah circuit is very demanding for a driver. It is very fast and offers a lot of grip. The closer you are to the wall, the more time you gain on your lap. It’s a place where you really feel the full potential of a Formula 1 car. It will also be hot because we will be there later in the year than usual, so physical readiness will be important. Overall, I am really looking forward to racing on this exciting track. »
