What is the Hypercar BoP at the 6 Hours of Imola?
World Endurance Championship officials have released the balance of performance data. Some of the cars that lagged behind in Qatar will benefit from a better BoP at Imola.
After a very clear domination by Ferrari in Qatar, the Scuderia should face more competition on its home turf. A few days before the first practice sessions of the 6 Hours of Imola, the WEC has made official the BoP data for each competitor.
The 499Ps will be heavier compared to the opening round. They will weigh eight kilos more but will gain 7kW of power. A significant weight increase, but still less than the weight gain of the Cadillacs: +11 kilos.
Among all the Hypercars, three will undergo weight reduction for this Italian weekend: Peugeot (-1), Alpine (-2), and Porsche (-11). The A424 will benefit from more power, +11kW compared to what was available in Qatar. It will also have more electric power during each relay.
Upon closer analysis, the Peugeot 9X8 will retain almost the same data as in Qatar. As a reminder, it had entered the points zone. Will that be the case again on Sunday, April 20?
