Finally complete. After revealing part of its lineup for the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans, United Autosports has finally announced the crew of the LMP2 #22 for the classic Le Mans race.
David Heinemeier Hansson will be one of the three drivers. With his arrival, United Autosports secures a man of experience who has won eight times in the World Endurance Championship and has 23 podiums to his name.
« I am delighted to return to Le Mans at the wheel of a car entered by United Autosports. Their track record, preparation, and results speak for themselves. I’ve never had such a good chance of achieving a good result, the Dane rejoices.
He won’t have to get to know his teammates since he’s already raced with them. He has shared a car at Le Mans several times with Pietro Fittipaldi and has also been Renger van der Zande’s teammate in IMSA. I had a lot of success the last time I went there, fighting for pole position in 2023. And now, I have the opportunity to fight for victory at Le Mans, announces Emerson Fittipaldi’s grandson.
In 2024, the #22 had won in the LMP2 category for the second time, after 2020. This year, the Anglo-American team will aim for victory in three categories simultaneously: with the #22 in LMP2, the #23 in the LMP2 Pro/Am category, and, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of McLaren’s legendary win at Le Mans, the McLaren #59 and #95 in the GT3 category.
