While the Austrian Grand Prix concluded five hours ago, the FIA has just announced several changes in the final rankings. This decision follows a complaint from Aston Martin after the race, contesting the result based on the fact that some drivers were not properly penalized for exceeding track limits.

The FIA deemed Aston Martin’s complaint admissible and consequently applied new sanctions for several drivers. It has been revealed that Carlos Sainz, Lewis Hamilton, Pierre Gasly, Alexander Albon, and Logan Sargeant all received a 10-second penalty. On the other hand, Esteban Ocon received a whopping total of 30 seconds of penalty time. Nyck de Vries received 15 seconds, and Yuki Tsunoda received 5 seconds.

Result of the race: the final ranking is moving a lot. Carlos Sainz, who was in 4th place, drops down to 6th place. Good news for Lando Norris, who takes his position, and for Fernando Alonso, who moves up from 6th to 5th place.

Lower down, Lewis Hamilton switches places with his teammate George Russell: the seven-time world champion falls to 8th place, while Russell takes 7th place.

Pierre Gasly loses a position, ultimately finishing in 10th place, while Lance Stroll takes his 9th place. At the bottom of the rankings, Nyck de Vries drops from 15th place to 17th place, and Yuki Tsunoda from 18th to 19th place.
