Esteban receives a 5-second penalty at the Austrian Grand Prix for nearly causing a collision in the pit lane with Logan Sargeant after an "unsafe release".

Penalties are raining down on the Austrian Grand Prix this Sunday. After Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz, Yuki Tsunoda, and Alex Albon (all four receiving 5-second penalties for exceeding track limits), it’s now Esteban Ocon’s turn to receive a sanction from the FIA.

Same result for him: he receives a 5-second penalty, but the cause is different here. Ocon indeed almost caused a collision with Logan Sargeant in the pit lane when both cars came in to change their tires. Alpine is therefore guilty of an “unsafe release”.
