Two photos of Ayrton Senna to be auctioned for a good cause
The Grand Prix de la photo de Saint-Tropez takes place this Saturday, May 31. To mark the occasion, an auction will be held in aid of Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque. Bruno des Gayets and Bernard Bakalian are taking part.

As last year, numerous collectible photographs will be auctioned. This Saturday, May 31st at 6 PM, an exceptional sale will take place in Saint-Tropez and online.
Thirty-four photographs will be offered for sale to benefit Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque. Among all the collectible items, three come from Formula 1.
The Roannais Bruno des Gayets selected one of his photos of Ayrton Senna. This one was taken at Silverstone in 1991. You can see the Brazilian putting on his hood. According to estimates, it could sell for between 400 and 600€. But last year, the professional saw one of his works sell for 2,500€. « We’ll see if this one does better », he smiles. Meanwhile, he is exhibiting around forty of his photos at the Petit Louvre of La Pacaudière in the Loire, until the end of August. The museum doors will be open on Saturday, June 7. Bruno des Gayets is also expected to release an illustrated book in 2026.
His friend Bernard Bakalian has also decided to join this sale. He will also offer a photo of Ayrton Senna, taken during his first Grand Prix, in Detroit, in 1984. At that time, the future three-time world champion was driving for Toleman. Like Bruno des Gayets, the photo is estimated between €400 and €600.
Finally, Antoine Schneck will join the two Frenchmen with a photo of the Ferrari F2006 taken in 2007 in Maranello. His print, made in eight copies, is expected to sell for around €4,000. His work in series of portraits on a black background demonstrates an interest in the diversity of faces he captures around the world, always under the sign of meeting the Other.
