It’s the outsider of this first day. Cadillac led the first free practice session in the middle of the afternoon before repeating the feat during the qualifications. After seeing the lap times drop more and more, Alex Lynn, in the #12, completed the 13.656-kilometer Le Mans circuit in less than 3:24. Phenomenal.

« It was lovely! The car was very good. Honestly, I have nothing to complain about. I didn’t make any adjustments between the first and second run and just improved my performance. It’s a good start, we’ll take it », congratulates Alex Lynn, from the #12.

A little further down in the rankings, Sébastien Bourdais also delivered a great performance during this half-hour. The Frenchman, competing at home, set the fifth-fastest time. This performance also means access to the hyperpole.

« It was a good lap. Personally, I would say that we had more understeer than expected, so I had to push quite hard to achieve this lap. Overall, I am quite satisfied. I didn’t think we could get down to 3:23, but obviously, the track improved a lot, and the second lap, the second run-in, was always going to be critical. I’m really happy that all four Cadillacs made it through, we seem to be competitive, we just need to fine-tune the balance for tomorrow and see what we can do », emphasizes Sébastien Bourdais, in the #38.

As highlighted by the Cadillac driver, the two other cars of the American brand have made it into the top 15. The #311 finished ninth and the #101, thirteenth.
