IDEC Sport had its heart broken at the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Both of the French team's cars threw in the towel. One due to a mechanical problem, the other after losing a wheel four hours from the finish.

A double retirement. Very frustrating. While the two LMP2 cars from IDEC Sport were having a good start to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, neither car ultimately made it to the finish.

The one everyone had their eyes on, #18, driven by Jamie Chadwick, André Lotterer, and Mathys Jaubert, withdrew in the utmost discretion. A pit stop, the prototype brought back to the garage, and a withdrawal some time later. « We still need to identify the cause », says the French team.

For the other car, the retirement was even more terrible. Shortly after a pit stop, the #28 left at full throttle, but before tackling the Esses of the forest, it lost a wheel. This led it into the gravel with no possibility of rejoining the race.

The images from the IDEC Sport stands were heartbreaking, everyone started crying. This result shows the cruelty of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The warriors have already returned to the fight, more determined than ever. Le Mans, be ready, the appointment is set for 2026, announces the structure based not far from the Paul Ricard circuit.

In the meantime, the LMP2s will return to the ELMS circuit, a championship where they dominate everything, notably the one driven by Jamie Chadwick, who is leading with two wins in two events.
