A short break or a gradual retirement? At 45, Jenson Button is still fully engaged in a tough and demanding championship. The 2009 F1 world champion is currently associated with Cadillac in the World Endurance Championship.

With eight events per year on the calendar, many of his weekends can remain free. And yet… The Briton admitted that he is considering a part-time season for 2026.

« I have so many things to do that I can’t manage it all. I need to make a choice. Next year, I will probably take a step back and not compete for the entire season. I’ve had a very fulfilling career, and I hope the next four races are great, and we finish on a high note. It is highly unlikely that I will do a full season next year, simply due to timing reasons. I really want to continue racing here and there, but I can’t dedicate that much time to racing », said Jenson Button to Telegraph Sport.

In the meantime, he still has the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo, the Lone Star Le Mans, the 6 Hours of Fuji as well as the 8 Hours of Bahrain to conclude the season with Cadillac.
