As beautiful as it is demanding, the legendary Australian Grand Prix will indeed be on the calendar for many more years. This alternation of slow and fast corners, as well as the numerous overtaking opportunities, make it one of the most appreciated tracks by F1 fans, who can rejoice in having it on the schedule until 2041.

Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, is obviously pleased with this extension. Austria has long been an incredibly special race for Formula 1. It is therefore fantastic that we have secured the long-term future of a Grand Prix so deeply rooted in the history of the sport.

Indeed, 37 editions of this Grand Prix have already taken place since its introduction to the calendar in 1964. The circuit disappeared from the calendar between 2004 and 2014. It is thanks to the modernization work, financed by Dietrich Mateschitz, that the Red Bull Ring was able to host F1 again.

Great names in the history of Formula 1 have stood on the top step in Austria, including Alain Prost, Niki Lauda, Michael Schumacher, and Alan Jones.

« Dietrich Mateschitz’s vision and passion have enabled the race to receive the investment and attention needed to once again become an incredible event on the Formula 1 calendar. Every year, the return to the beautiful Styrian mountains is a highlight – an experience that evokes incredible emotion in our drivers, teams, and fans, creating an unparalleled atmosphere, » adds Stefano Domenicali.

« I wish to sincerely thank Mark Mateschitz, Thomas Überall, and his team for their unwavering dedication to excellence, as well as our incredible Austrian audience, whose enthusiasm and loyalty continue to elevate this iconic race.
